A colon cleanse is a simple procedure that you undertake to literally, clean the inside of your colon.
The reason this is a valuable thing to do, is that your body extracts many nutrients and water from the foods and drinks than it consumes, and if your colon is clogged up, your body will not be able to extract as many nutrients, as it could.
Just one of the crucial results of this is weight gain.
There are many other problems, just as serious as gaining weight when your colon and intestines are not absorbing nutrients properly. These include constipation, gas, bloating, fatigue, stomach pains, poor circulation, and many degenerative diseases such as arthritis, and cancer.
One of the reasons that colon problems are so common is that in the first place, it is not a particularly pleasant subject. Discussing the subject of going to the bathroom and ones stools and what they are like, is not something most people do.
Similarly, to other internal organs such as the heart, kidneys, and liver, the colon and intestines are "out of sight, out of mind". However, this isn't always the case, especially when pain and discomfort are present.
By somehow getting rid of all the compacted faecal matter, mucus, and other sludge, inside the intestines and colon, you can very quickly feel relief.
There are a number of ways to clean the colon and intestines, and the simplest and most effective way is by taking certain herbs and other natural ingredients with your diet, which have been shown to draw out and soften old faecal deposits and other substances, which one does not want to remain in the body.
This is not the same as taking a laxative, which gives a very quick relief from a hardened stool, but which passes so quickly through your body that it does no other benefit, and does not train the natural muscular action of your intestines and colon. It may sound strange to talk about training the muscles of the intestines and colon, but this will be covered in more detail in other articles.
The proper procedure for cleansing the intestines and colon usually takes approximately 2 to three weeks. After this time, your body can learn, once again, what it is like to be in a more optimal state.
In the old days, doing a colon cleanse was not something that was even considered. Having said that, it was quite common in ages past, to do a short fast, which in many ways, had the same effect as doing a more modern colon cleanse.
In a similar way that a car needs to be regularly serviced, your body also needs a helping hand from time to time, because of the modern lifestyle and diet.
The other pages and articles on this website go into much greater detail, and about the procedures you follow when doing a colon cleanse.
